When you go on vacation you want to know that you and your family are well taken care of. One of the goals of an Airbnb Host is to make sure that their Guests have everything they’ll need, and are available to respond to any questions they may have. We’ve outlined some things you can do to improve your Guest’s Airbnb stay, which will hopefully lead to becoming a sought-after Superhost.

Provide the Necessities

A good Airbnb Host should be fully equipped with all of the essentials, including:

  • Toothpaste
  • Soap
  • Shampoo
  • Towels

There are plenty more necessities that we’ve included in our 10 things Hosts should always have for their Guests.

Respond Quickly to Questions

When Guests arrive at your home, chances are they’re not too familiar with the area. At times you’ll receive questions like where to find the closest shopping mall, a nice restaurant to visit, or local tourist attractions. It’s up to you to respond to your Guests as knowledgeably as well as quickly as possible. Remember, part of becoming a Superhost means that you’ll need to have a quick response time!

Have a List of Nearby Activities Available

Putting together a list of nearby attractions can be super informative, while eliminating the need for additional communication. This can be done either on your Airbnb profile, or by having pamphlets and guides available at your house. Rather than having to contact you directly asking about nice restaurants, having this information ready and at their disposal help them make their decisions quicker, without having to rely on you as much.

Greet Your Guests When They Arrive

Nothing welcomes someone more to your home than a familiar face waiting to give them the grand tour. It’s a nice touch which allows you to meet your Guests, while also being a good time to re-iterate some ground rules and establish a relationship. Guests are then less likely to cause problems because you’ve already spent some time getting to know them.

Do Sweat the Little Things

It’s the small details that can make an impact. Freshly washed sheets, emptied garbage bins, and fluffy towels will help make your Guests feel right at home. Is your Airbnb smack in the middle of wine country? Maybe a nice complementary bottle of wine with a small cheese platter waiting for them upon arrival. It’s not expected, but these small touches can really help set you apart from your competition.

Do Whatever You Can To Make Things Right

If you happen to have an unexpected plumbing leak, a bathroom breaking, or fridge that stops running, do everything in your power to have it fixed immediately. Sure, it may cost a little bit to repair, but giving your Guests peace of mind will not only ensure their vacation goes off without a hitch. Remember, your attentiveness will always be beneficial at getting a good rating!

Regardless of Your Status, You’re a Superhost

Sure, you may not be a Superhost yet, but you have to remember that’s what you’re striving to be. Anything that you can do (within reason) to improve the stay of your Guests is something you should take seriously. As long as you pay close attention to their needs, and are there to help them solve any issues that may arise, you’ll be well on your way to becoming one of the best Airbnb Hosts around.
